Welcome to the Bradner-Claybaugh Genealogy!
31 January 2008 - 5:41:15am

This is the family tree of Scott Charles Bradner and Katie Michelle Claybaugh. We became interested in tracing our lineages on a whim only a couple months ago and we were quickly sucked into the inescapable whirlpool that is genealogy.

We chose this application, PhpGedView, for our work in genealogy because of its ease of use and visual nature. This format makes our family history easier to study and to understand than are conventional GEDCOM readouts. We are not professional genealogists. Our goal in creating this record of our family's past and present is to preserve for future generations interesting information regarding our bloodlines. We hope it will be an appreciated, intensive, facile resource for many years.

One of our main goals in creating this site is to form a combination of our genealogy and family history. We intend to archive as much information on our families as is possible without being terribly boring. The usual genealogy suspects are here (full names, places of birth and death, military records, and more), but we have also tried to include such amusing items as nicknames and anecdotes for people whenever we can reliably provide that information. Another goal we have is to include multimedia objects (photos, scans of official documents, et cetera) for sources and information wherever possible. This will hopefully make our genealogy more interesting to browse along with serving the purpose of preserving important documents. We ask that you request permission to use any images on this site which are not part of the public domain.

We welcome information on ancestors and descendents of the people in our GEDCOM file. We are not uploading information on ancestors of those who married into this tree unless they are direct ascendents to Katie or Scott. Please contact us if you have something to share, to correct, or if you would like to talk about information we have posted here.

In the interest of privacy, it is only possible to view information on the deceased if you do not have an account. If you have questions regarding account creation, please read the FAQ for details (with your mouse/cursor, hover over the 'Help' icon in the navigation bar and choose 'FAQ List' from the mouseover menu). We hope you will enjoy our site--please pass it on to others!

About Scott and Katie:
Scott is a software developer with a keen analytical mind and a strong drive to solve puzzles. He is adept at sourcing evidence and making logical connections which other people might miss. Katie is an undergraduate student of sociolinguistics and world languages (French, Norwegian, and Japanese). She has extensive experience in social scientific research and expository writing. Scott and Katie are stereotypically American in that they come from a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities. Scott's cultural heritage is German, British, and Irish (so far as we currently know) and Katie's is Norwegian, German, English, Welsh, Irish, Luxembourgian, and Dutch (ditto).
